What are cookies and why do I need to enable them?

A cookie is a text-only string of information transferred by our website to the cookie file of your browser so that our website can remember who you are as you move from page to page within our website.

We only use session cookies, which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave our site.

If we did not use session cookies, then the answers you have given in the online tests would disappear by the time you progressed to the next page of the test!

Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you. They cannot look into your computer and find out information about you, your family, or read any material kept on your hard-drive. Session cookies simply allow our website to recognise you as you navigate through our website. It is technically impossible for cookies to read personal information.

Top

 How do I enable cookies?

You can choose to accept session cookies by changing the settings in your browser. As there are a number of browser software available on the market with different steps required to enable cookies, we advise that you go to your browser's Help menu and search for 'cookies' for instructions on how to enable cookies for your particular browser.

What is JavaScript and why do I need to enable it?

JavaScript is a system of programming codes embedded into our web pages to add functionality such as site navigation, feedback forms, visual effects, etc. We only use safe scripts that do not harm your computer, so it is safe to enable JavaScript to navigate this website.

Video pop up window does not appear - pop ups disabled

If you do not get a pop up window when you click on a video link, then make sure that pop ups are enabled for www.spreadsims.net and it may be necessary to disable this in your Internet security software also (for example Norton Antivirus). If you just wish to enable pop ups temporarily just hold down the Ctrl key when you click on the link. This allows just that particular pop-up window through for that one occasion.
